Homer Hook
Multi Species

Chase Em All.

Homer is one of the only ports in the world where you can target Pacific halibut, king salmon, silver salmon, rockfish, lingcod, and Tanner crab — all within an hour of the dock. Six species. One destination.

When Can You Chase Them All?

July and August are the prime multi-species window — four species available simultaneously. Add a king salmon day in May or June, and a crab trip in fall, and the full slam is done.

4-Species Operators

Halibut · Salmon · Rockfish · Lingcod

The core four-species slam — achievable in a single well-planned July or August day on the right boat.

Planning the Full Slam

3-Day Summer Slam

July or August

Day 1: Halibut + rockfish combo. Day 2: Silver salmon. Day 3: Lingcod-focused deep trip. All four core species in three days — achievable and excellent.

The Full 5-Species

Multi-trip or split season

Add a king salmon day in May or June, then return in fall for a Tanner crab pot trip. Or book an operator running crab pot soaks alongside a summer combo day.

One-Day Multi Species

July–August

Some operators run halibut in the morning, switch to rockfish and lingcod midday, then troll for silvers in the afternoon. Three species on one boat, one day. Ask about 'Captain's Choice' trips.

Book in Order

Planning tip

Start with halibut (most operators, easiest to book). Then add salmon based on run conditions. Let your captain guide you — they track daily reports and know what's worth targeting.
