About this charter

Slack Tide Charters is a small family-run operation based out of Homer, Alaska, with Captain Drew at the helm for 10 seasons after earning his USCG 100T Captain's license in 2015. The charter runs aboard the F/V Patriot, a rugged 30-foot Armstrong monohull built in Port Angeles, WA, powered by 300 HP Yamaha outboards capable of 24 knots — heavier and more stable than most aluminum boats her size, with diesel heaters, a marine toilet, below-deck fishholds, and a life raft. With a maximum of 6 anglers per trip, Captain Drew keeps things personal, venturing to world-class grounds including the Chugach Islands and Barren Islands for halibut, rockfish, lingcod, and salmon. The company name pays homage to the fishing wisdom that "some of the best fishing comes right as the tide starts slowing down" — and they pride themselves on turning first-timers into pros.
