About this charter

Alaska Saltwater Adventures is a family and group fishing charter operation out of Homer, Alaska, owned by USCG Masters 100-Ton certified Captain Max Shifler, who has been fishing the Lower Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay since 2010. The operation runs aboard the 37-foot Tollycraft M/V Kachemak King, equipped with twin John Deere engines, a heated cabin, private head, Cannon downriggers, and Shimano Trevala rods with 2-speed Penn reels, accommodating up to 6 guests per trip. Captain Jeffrey Lee Franks, who brings 8 seasons of Homer experience learned from local legend Captain Richard Baltzer aboard the F/V Obsession, also runs charters for the company. Trips depart at 6:30 AM and travel 1–2 hours through Kachemak Bay and Lower Cook Inlet targeting halibut, king and silver salmon, rockfish, and lingcod, with dockside filleting and processing handled by Buttwhackers fish filleting services.
